Young Yu
Young is our Managing Director and focuses on providing international business development, cross cultural communication and stakeholder engagement advice between Australia and Korea companies.
Young has over a decade of cross-border experience transaction within the private and public sector in Australia and Korea. He specializes in advising clients on variety of finance, mining, energy resources and international business sectors.
Prior to MGM O’Connor Corporate Advisory, Young served as a Senior Advisor – National Leader: Korean Services Group at Deloitte Australia, where he specialised in international trade and investment facilitation and stakeholder engagements.
Young serves as Executive Chairman and Managing Director of AVESS, a vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) company focused on off-grid energy storage applications.
Young served Australian and WA Governments in Korea during 2004 and 2012 as a Trade Commissioner and WA Government Representative Commissioner.
Young is a member of CPA Australia and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Curtin University of Technology.
Young is a former chairman and board member of the Asia Business Council of WA (ABCWA) and the Australia Korea Business Council of WA (AKBCWA) and former Non-Executive Director of Xantippe Resources Limited.
